Miva Merchant Mia#

Miva Merchant Mia is an engine and personal web server environment that runs compiled MivaScript applications, giving store designers and software developers the means to run and test their work on their Windows desktop. Mia enables users and developers to create the same environment on a local Windows machine as would be available on a Web server under Miva Merchant Empresa.

Miva Merchant Mia provides an excellent development environment for MivaScript developers to build, test, and run interactive web applications offline before deployment on a production, Miva Merchant Empresa-enabled web server. You can download Miva Merchant Mia from the Software Downloads section.

Features#

Scripting#

Mia 5 runs applications written in MivaScript and provides a powerful set of advanced web development features. A bundled suite of template applications written in MivaScript lets you begin developing Miva Merchant applications immediately.

Data Handling#

A high-performance, architecture-neutral, multi-user database system is integrated into Miva Merchant Mia. The database system uses xBase-compatible data files and special cross-platform index files. Database and index files can be copied and used across web server platforms without any conversion or time-consuming data unload/load procedures.

Database Interfaces#

Additional client libraries are available for Mia/Empresa to interface with popular database schemes, such as MySQL, Oracle, and ODBC. MySQL database connection requires a separate connector library configured to run with Mia/Empresa.

Easy-to-use#

The XML-based MivaScript language lets web site developers access advanced e-commerce and database features in an HTML environment. Because the system is tag-based, HTML users can build active content documents. Advanced users can develop function libraries using MivaScript’s user-defined function capabilities. Developing an application using MivaScript is as easy as using industry-standard tag-based syntax in the active document—there is no easier way than MivaScript to build sophisticated active server-side documents.

Commerce#

Access to the most popular commerce services on the net is built into MivaScript and accessible via a single tag. Using the <MvCOMMERCE> tag, developers can securely and easily access back-end services from major names such as VeriSign, CyberSource, FedEx, and more. Simple credit card processing or advanced electronic software distribution systems are standard features of MivaScript (setup and monthly fees with the commerce provider are not included).

System Requirements#

Mia 5 can be installed on any of the following platforms:

  • Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP
  • Windows Server 2003

Compatibility#

Mia 5 is required for support of Miva Merchant 5 and other MivaScript 5 applications running on your local Windows machine. Mia 5 is backwards-compatible with Miva Merchant 4.14 and above and other compiled MivaScript 4 applications.
