Amazon Pay is a third-party checkout similar to PayPal Express Checkout. It replaced Checkout by Amazon which was discontinued with Miva Version 8. Amazon Pay offers in-line verification, in-line authorization and supports store coupons, Miva shipping rules and uses Miva to select a shipping method.
In order to use Amazon Pay in your Miva store, you must first register for the Amazon Pay service if you haven’t already.
To do so, go to https://sellercentral.amazon.com to register. Make note of the Access Key and Secret Key.
The Amazon Pay module can be found by clicking Settings in the lower left corner, then clicking Modules.
On the page that opens, you can narrow the module options by clicking the drop down in the “Type” box and then clicking Payment.
In the Amazon Pay box, click the Install button.
After the module is installed, the Payment Settings page opens to the Amazon Pay tab, where you will configure the module.
Merchant ID: Enter the Merchant ID you received when you set up your Amazon Seller account.
Access Key: Enter the Access Key you received when you set up your Amazon Seller account.
Secret Key/Confirm Secret Key: Enter the Secret Key you received when you set up your Amazon Seller account.
Currency: Select the currency used from the drop down. This usually matches the currency set in the store itself.
Transaction Timeout: This establishes the amount of time you will allow an order placed using Amazon Pay to be edited. The max timeout is 1,440 minutes, or 24 hours, which is the maximum allowed by Amazon.
For example, let’s say a customer completed a checkout with Amazon Pay from your store, but then the customer wants to add an item to the order, or change the shipping or payment information. You are able to log into the Miva admin, edit the customer’s order, and make any necessary changes. If you have set the transaction timeout to 30 minutes, and the customer calls you 15 minutes after they placed the order, changes can be made to the original order. But if the customer calls you 40 minutes after the order, you are not able to make changes and resubmit the order to Amazon. Instead, you would have to cancel the order and ask the customer to start over with a new order.
Polling Interval: The Polling Interval determines how often the Miva admin contacts Amazon to check on the status of a transaction. This is important because Amazon does some fraud processing before a transaction is authorized.
So for example, If you have set the polling interval to 30 minutes, the Miva admin will contact Amazon every 30 minutes for an order status update. Let’s say a customer completed a checkout, but the transaction has not been authorized. You then edit the order in the admin, which sets the order status to pending. The Miva admin will check with Amazon every 30 minutes for an order status update.
Instantly Capture Payment: If this option is selected, the funds will be captured as soon as Amazon marks the transaction as authorized. If you do not select this option you must:
This functionality requires prior approval from Amazon. You must contact Amazon and ask for it to be enabled in your Amazon seller account.
Server: Select Production or Sandbox. Choosing Production enables Amazon Pay in your online store. Selecting Sandbox allows you to experiment with Amazon Pay in an isolated environment.
Before selecting Sandbox you must have a sandbox set up with your Amazon seller account. Your Amazon sandbox will have separate credentials for Merchant ID, Access Key and Secret Key, which you must also enter in this tab.
