With the release of Miva 10, the Customer Dashboard was introduced. The Customer Dashboard shows you the most valuable metrics to gain insight into the behavior of your customers.
In previous versions of Miva, customer information was separated into tabs within the admin. Now the Customer Dashboard has pulled the data from those tabs and displays it in one place using widgets, which also serve as a direct link to easily update the information.
The Customer Information widget provides a snapshot of the customer’s current information. The header displays the customers default shipping first and last names, as well as the date the customer was created. If the customer is a tax exempt customer, it will also display in the header. Other information displayed includes number of orders, the average order value and their lifetime order total.
Further in the widget, Customer Info is displayed, including the customer’s username, email address associated with the account and a password update link. Below that is the customer’s default billing and shipping address.
If you select Edit in the Customer Info section, you can update their login, update their email for lost passwords, associate a business account with the customer and change their Tax Exempt status.
Click the Change Password link and you are able to update the customer’s password within a pop up box.
If you click Edit on any of the default addresses, you will see a pop up box with a batch list of all of the addresses associated with that customer.
Clicking Add Address opens a pop up where you can enter an address for the customer.
If you click View Address Book you will see a slightly different pop up from the Edit function, that shows you a batch list of all the customer’s addresses.
The Orders widget displays the six most recent orders from the customer. There is also a New Order button that allows you to create a new attached to the customer’s account.
The View All link takes you to a batch list of all of the customer’s orders, and also provides the New Order button as described above.
The Notes widget displays the three most recent notes assigned to the customer, and provides an Add Note link to create a new note for that customer.
Clicking View All opens a pop up box that contains a batch list of all of the customer’s notes, and provides the Add Note link as described above.
The Subscriptions widget shows a list of the six most recent product subscriptions the customer has signed up for.
Clicking New Subscription will open a pop up box where you can add a new product subscription to the customer’s account.
If you click the View All link, you will see a batch list of all of the customer’s subscriptions. The Account Credit widget displays the customer’s total credit balance. Clicking Add Credit opens the Adjust Credit Balance pop up which allows you to add a dollar amount to their credit, add a Transaction Reference if desired, and add a Description to the credit. View History opens a pop up that displays a batch list of the customer’s account credit history. The Price Groups widget displays the top four price groups the customer belongs to, based on the priority settings of those price groups. View All opens a pop up that displays a batch list with all of the price groups the customer is in, and allows you to easily assign and unassign the price groups as desired. The Payment Cards widget displays the three payment cards that were most recently added to the customer’s account. Clicking Edit will open a pop up that displays a batch list of all of the available customer payment cards. Clicking New Card opens a different pop up, allowing you to add a new payment card to the customer’s account. The Widgets section displays other module data if the module allows for widget functionality. The Manage Quotes module has a widget which will display any current customer quotes, and provides both a View All link and a New Quote button. By using the widgets API module, developers have the ability to create custom widgets to display in the Widgets section of the customer dashboard.
