Generating Variants

If you want to use the inventory management abilities of the Miva admin, you need to use the Generate Variants functionality. This gives you an easy way to track your inventory at the attribute level. It also allows you to control the price of a product at the attribute level.

Important

To use the Generate Variants feature, you must make sure the Track Inventory box is checked for each Attribute you created. If the Generate Variants button isn’t available to you, go back to the product’s attributes and make sure the Track Inventory box is checked for the desired attributes.

Using Generate Variants

1. From the product page you’re working on, click the Attributes tab.

2. Next, click the Generate Variants button.

3. Review the box that opens. Select the desired radio button and then click the Generate button. Your inventory variants are then displayed in the attributes tab.

Note

The list that generates shows all of your inventory variants in a master product/variant hierarchy. This hierarchy is how the Miva admin helps you organize your online store. Your inventory remains the same either way.

4. Click the Preview icon in the top of the Admin to see what the product's page will look like. The attributes are displayed next to the photo of the item, under the price.
