In Miva Merchant 9.4 and later you are able to manage your title tags on a page template, category, and product level. Find out how to take control of the title tags in your store.
Overwriting Page Titles
To see where your Page Titles show up, go to “View Store” and look up at the top of your browser. You’ll see the default title listed at the top of your page.
This is pulling the Title Tag from your “Store Settings” Page. To change it you can go to “Menu” scroll down to “Store Settings” and then under the “Store Details” tab, you’ll see the Title field under “Store Name.” If you change this title tag in this field and then refresh your store page - you’ll see the Title updated.
While this is a global Title Tag - not all pages display the same. An example would be the About Us page. If you look at the default title tag for About Us, you’ll see that it has the name of the store from the Store Settings, but then the words About Us after it. To view the About Us Page in the Admin go to “Menu,” scroll down to “User Interface.”
Once you’re on the Pages area then type in the search bar “About Us” or just click on the “ABUS” page template, then click on the “Open Page” icon.
Here you’ll see the Title Tag field where you can type something more specific/unique for the title of this specific page. When you’re done typing, click on the “Update” button.
Now when you go to your stores page, click on the “About Us” Page and then click refresh, you’ll see that the About Us page title has been updated.
The difference on the Category and Product Page templates is this, you’ll have the name of the store followed by the category name, or the product name. This is the default behavior for all of the title tags as it’s figured within the CSSUI framework. In Miva Merchant 9.004 you have the capability of overwriting this default behavior. on a product level, on a category level, and on a page level.
