Lists, creates and deletes template branches on a store. These commands work outside a checkout.

mmt branch list#

Lists the store’s branches with whether each is the primary or working branch, and its preview URL.

mmt branch list --credential-key CREDENTIAL_KEY --store-code STORE_CODE
Argument Short Required Description
--credential-key CREDENTIAL_KEY -c Yes The credential to connect with.
--store-code STORE_CODE -s Yes The store code.

Example:

mmt branch list -c mystore -s ST

mmt branch create#

Creates a branch as a copy of another branch. Give --remote-key to use a remote’s credential, store and branch as the parent, or give --from, --store-code and --credential-key.

mmt branch create [--color COLOR] [--from FROM] [--store-code STORE_CODE] [--credential-key CREDENTIAL_KEY] [--remote-key REMOTE_KEY] name
Argument Short Required Description
--color COLOR -l No The branch color shown in the admin.
--from FROM -f No The branch to copy. Required without --remote-key.
--store-code STORE_CODE -s No The store the branch is in. Required without --remote-key.
--credential-key CREDENTIAL_KEY -c No The credential to connect with. Required without --remote-key.
--remote-key REMOTE_KEY -r No A remote to take the credential, store and parent branch from, instead of --from, --store-code and --credential-key.
name Yes The name of the new branch.

Example:

mmt branch create -r mystore-dev holiday-2026
mmt branch create -f Production -s ST -c mystore -l '#e3a21a' holiday-2026

On Miva 10.10 and later, the store can create a branch over several requests. MMT keeps sending the request until the store reports the branch is complete, then prints Branch '<name>' created. It doesn’t add a remote for the new branch; use mmt remote add with -b <name>.

mmt branch delete#

Deletes a branch.

mmt branch delete --credential-key CREDENTIAL_KEY --store-code STORE_CODE name
Argument Short Required Description
--credential-key CREDENTIAL_KEY -c Yes The key associated with the remote resource.
--store-code STORE_CODE -s Yes The store code.
name Yes The branch to delete.

Example:

mmt branch delete -c mystore -s ST holiday-2026

Warning

MMT doesn’t ask for confirmation, and it doesn’t check for checkouts of the branch. Only the store can refuse the delete.
