MMT is a Python package, miva-mmt. It needs Python 3.6 or later and pip.
Install#
Install it for your user account:
pip3 install --user miva-mmt
--user puts the mmt command in your user’s Python scripts folder. If your shell can’t find mmt afterwards, add that folder to your PATH. python3 -m site --user-base shows where it is; the command is in its bin folder (macOS and Linux) or Scripts folder (Windows).
To install it for everyone on the computer instead, run pip3 install miva-mmt with administrator rights.
Check that it works:
mmt --version
It prints the version, for example 1.0.6.
Update#
pip3 install --upgrade miva-mmt
Go back to an earlier version#
Uninstall, then install the version you want:
pip3 uninstall miva-mmt
pip3 install miva-mmt==1.0.5
Options added in later versions, such as --include-hidden-settings (1.0.4) or mmt sri (1.0.6), won’t be available. An older version may not read configuration files written by a newer one, so keep everyone on a team on the same version.
